Hedrick Homes -- Additions/Remodeling 2008

Anyone who knows Bill and June Koval knows how small their kitchen was – more like a hallway with a sink, dishwasher and a couple of cabinets (but adorable cabinets!). How June fed the basketball teams every Friday night and had holiday dinners is beyond me! After 30+ odd years of living this way, they decided it was time to add on and build a new kitchen. We kept John at Valley busy designing and re-designing, and finally got the perfect layout – one that would allow them to eventually use their antique butcher table as an island, and also incorporate a kitchen table. We ended up with Kraftmaid’s maple Amhurst cabinets in canvas with cocoa glaze, laminate countertops, and all new hardwood flooring throughout. Their adorable back yard is in perfect view with the huge triple window over the sink, and we even made room for a cozy covered porch accessible by a new Frenchwood Gliding door. We managed to pull this off in just six weeks, which I’m sure Bill & June appreciated considering they decided to stay put during construction – living with the coffeepot in the sunroom and the toaster oven and crock pot in the living room! We are hoping the kitchen passed the Thanksgiving test with flying colors, and that they enjoy many happy years with their beautiful new kitchen!
